    RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THIN GARNET FILM BASED MAGNETO-OPTICAL IMAGERS.

    This dissertation deals with the use of magnetic single-crystal bismuth-substituted iron garnet thin films for magneto-optical imaging (MOI) of stray magnetic fields. The main advantages of such garnet-based imagers are their high sensitivity, high contrast and possibility to design films for imaging of magnetic fields in a wide range of magnitudes. The garnet films have been grown by the liquid phase epitaxy method from a flux melt on (210)- and (100)-oriented substrates and extensively characterized using various magnetic and optical methods. Specific melt compositions are identified that allow the growth of high sensitivity and high contrast indicator films on (210)-oriented substrates. Very low saturation field and high sensitivity of such garnet films are attributed to the existence of the so-called "easy plane of magnetization", a plane for which the magnetic free energy density is at a minimum for any orientation of the magnetization vector within this plane. Etching has been extensively used to investigate the effect of intrinsic film domain structures on the quality of MO imagers. It has been determined that the size of the domains reduces as the thickness of the film gets smaller. Below 1μm film thickness, the domains start evolving towards the "single domain" state which is beneficial for imaging purposes. The comparison of the imaging capabilities of the etched films grown on (210)- and (100)-oriented substrates has been performed and the resolution of the (100)-oriented imagers has been found to be inferior to the imagers based on the (210)-oriented samples with an easy plane of magnetization. The possibilities to enhance magneto-optic effects by strong local electric fields from optically induced plasmon resonances in gold nanoparticles embedded in garnet media are analyzed. The experimental investigation of the plasmon resonance enhancement of the Faraday effect has been performed and about 50% increase in Faraday rotation angle at a wavelength of 633 nm has been measured for the samples of interest. It is expected that under ideal conditions of the plasmon resonance excitation as well as proper garnet film parameters, an increase in Faraday rotation up to 400% could be achieved

    Multilingual Transformers for Product Matching -- Experiments and a New Benchmark in Polish

    Product matching corresponds to the task of matching identical products across different data sources. It typically employs available product features which, apart from being multimodal, i.e., comprised of various data types, might be non-homogeneous and incomplete. The paper shows that pre-trained, multilingual Transformer models, after fine-tuning, are suitable for solving the product matching problem using textual features both in English and Polish languages. We tested multilingual mBERT and XLM-RoBERTa models in English on Web Data Commons - training dataset and gold standard for large-scale product matching. The obtained results show that these models perform similarly to the latest solutions tested on this set, and in some cases, the results were even better. Additionally, we prepared a new dataset entirely in Polish and based on offers in selected categories obtained from several online stores for the research purpose. It is the first open dataset for product matching tasks in Polish, which allows comparing the effectiveness of the pre-trained models. Thus, we also showed the baseline results obtained by the fine-tuned mBERT and XLM-RoBERTa models on the Polish datasets.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure

    The modified surface layers of the Cd1-xMnxTe crystals were obtained by the laser recrystallization of the crystal surface with the use of millisecond and nanosecond ruby ​​lasers. The determination and diagnostics of the layer structural state were performed by the study the electron channeling patterns in the SEM. The AFM studies showed that mechanically stable contact regions in the CdTe crystal – Cu film system can be formed, depending on the laser energy density and beam defocusing. On the base of the ellipsometric studies, it was found that while irradiating the Cd1-xMnxTe crystal surface, the refractive index of the oxide film on the modified surface changes depending on the laser beam energy density, which can be interpreted as the formation of the oxides of the different chemical composition

    The objective is to develop of scientific and technological bases for increasing of resource and ensuring of strength, durability, high technical and performance characteristics of series engines and aggregates for special equipment by creating and implementing of range of technologies for strengthening of working surfaces in contacting details. Scientific novelty of presented work is that based on set-theoretic approach new concept and methods are proposed for resource increasing for series of engines and special equipment by creating new technologies for strengthening their detail's surface, as well as in solving of fundamental and applied problems: Scientific and practical importance of the work is to develop fundamentally new technical solutions to ensure high strength and resource for details of heavy-loaded couples of engines and aggregates of special equipment. A range of methods of strengthening is developed and put into manufacturing (production and maintenance) of special equipment that, compared with traditional considerably (2-4 times) increase resource, strength and stability. A method for amplification of each of these methods, which are combinations of a much greater effect than from everyone. This has the effect of simultaneously improving all tribomechanical characteristics of friction pairs.В работе разработаны научно-технические основы повышения ресурса и обеспечения прочности, долговечности, высоких технических и тактико-технических характеристик серии двигателей и агрегатов для специальной техники за счет создания и внедрения гаммы технологий упрочнения рабочих поверхностей контактирующих деталей. на основе теоретико-множественного подхода предложены новые концепция и методы повышения ресурса серии двигателей и специальной техники путем создания новых технологий упрочнения поверхностей их деталей, а также в решении серии фундаментальных и прикладных задач. Научно-практическая значимость работы заключается в разработке принципиально новых технических решений по обеспечению высокой прочности и ресурса деталей тяжелонагруженных пар двигателей и агрегатов специальной техники. Разработана и внедрена в производство (изготовление и ремонт) специальной техники гамма методов упрочнения, которые, по сравнению с традиционными, существенно (в 2–4 раза) повышают ресурс, прочность и устойчивость. Предложен способ усиления действия каждого из названных методов путем их комбинации с гораздо большим эффектом, чем от каждого в отдельности.     The paper describes the questions of modeling of dynamic processes in lightly armored vehicles. The studied object is associated with a parameter set that adequately describes battle module, armored hull and suspension as a dynamic system. The obtained set of variables completely identifies this dynamic system. It is proposed to carry out numerical modeling based on the integration of motion equations by the finite element method in order to determine the rational parameters. On the basis of analysis of researches results, parameters are determined that satisfy the relevant criteria and constraints. In particular, dangerous resonance modes are detected and the criteria for disabling from these regimes are formulated.В работе описаны вопросы моделирования динамических процессов в легкобронированных машинах. С помощью метода параметрического моделирования исследуемый объект описан множеством варьируемых параметров, которые полностью идентифицируют динамическую систему "боевой модуль–бронекорпус–подвеска". Для определения рациональных параметров предложено проводить численное моделирование на основе интегрирования уравнений движения с помощью метода конечных элементов. На основе анализа результатов исследований определяются параметры, которые удовлетворяют соответствующим критериям и ограничениям. В частности, выявляются опасные резонансные режимы и формулируются критерии отстройки от этих режимов.У роботі описані питання моделювання динамічних процесів у легкоброньованих машинах. За допомогою методу параметричного моделювання досліджуваний об’єкт  описаний множиною варійованих параметрів, які повністю ідентифікують досліджувану динамічну систему "бойовий модуль – бронекорпус – підвіска". Для визначення раціональних параметрів запропоновано проводити чисельне моделювання на основі інтегрування рівнянь руху за допомогою методу скінченних елементів. На основі аналізу результатів досліджень визначаються параметри, які задовольняють відповідним критеріям та обмеженням. Зокрема, виявляються небезпечні резонансні режими та формулюються критерії відлаштування від цих режимів
